THE WHY

Preaching can be daunting.

Sometimes you stand up to preach on a Sunday morning, and you don’t know if anyone is listening. You wonder if your words matter.

Or midway through delivery you realize you are boring yourself. Maybe the worry hits harder midweek. Sunday is coming fast (yet again!) and you fear you won’t have anything to say. Inspiration, preparation, and evaluation are all up to you, and you’re not always sure you’re up to the task.

You’re supposed to offer wisdom and insight on behalf of God, which feels like a pretty important thing to get right. You might feign confidence, but wonder if you’re doing it wrong.

I get it. Talking about the Great Mystery that is God week after week in front of audience is challenging. But what if you could transform the way you preach, infusing every week with creativity, authenticity, confidence?

What if you woke up excited to preach, and what if connecting with your people was more of a guarantee and less of a gamble? What if transforming the way you preach wasn’t actually all that difficult or time-consuming?

What if better preaching was actually easier?

My special magic is the ability to make preaching come alive.

Join the Soul of Preaching Project, and we’ll transform the sermon from a sometimes dry and dreaded task into a joyful vehicle for your voice and artistry.

praise for SOUL OF PREACHING PROJECT

I joined the Soul of Preaching Cohort, desiring to explore how I might enliven and improve my preaching content and delivery. Kyndall provided valuable feedback with constructive offerings of insights in review of my sermon submissions. Each week she led our cohort through interactive and creative exercises, encouraging and inspiring us to allow our voices to flow authentically into our preaching moments.

— REV. CHERYL SCRAMUZZA, PASTOR OF BETHANY CHRISTIAN CHURCH, DALLAS, TX

Kyndall has helped me access the deep, inner parts of myself, I never knew I could reach. She’s so creative in her process of soul work. I’m so thankful for her gifts and nonjudgmental approach to opening people up. I’ve absolutely benefited from her spiritual directing!

— NATHAN ADAMS, PASTOR OF MEN AND MISSIONS, PIONEER DRIVE BAPTIST CHURCH

It is not surprising that the author of Preacher's Breath offers a breath of fresh, crisp mountain air to the art and task of preaching! Words to describe Kyndall's coaching: keen ear, deep wisdom, commitment to possibility, robust presence, and fierce belief in the holy and human task of preaching, and also of living whole and integrated lives. She faithfully digs the well and invites us to drink in inspiration, encouragement, challenge and courage from the streams of living water. Thank you for offering yourself and your work in this way, Kyndall!

— HAYDEN, CO-PASTOR OF AWAKE CHURCH, SEATTLE, WA

I joined Kyndall's Soul of Preaching Project because writing and delivering sermons rarely comes easy for me. Part of my struggle stems from being an external processor, a challenge in the solitary business of sermon writing. SOPP provides for out-loud exploration of themes and ideas, as well as constructive feedback on sermon delivery. What I've learned in the process has boosted my confidence and enthusiasm for sermon preparation. I am so grateful to Kyndall and my peers for the experience.
